A Great Night Was Had By All.The evening of Saturday 21st November 2015, saw Saint Mary Lodge 7898, hold their annual Ladies' Festival, which was once again held at the Garthwaite Masonic Hall, Long Sutton. The first of our seventy one guests started arriving at 6pm ready for a Champagne reception in the temple, where our Worshipful Master's Lady was presented with a beautiful basket of flowers. This was then followed by a hearty four course meal in our dinning room. Our 71 diners sat down to a very enjoyable |
starter of Minestrone Soup. Followed by the main course of Roast Turkey with Cranberries and Seasonal Vegetables. Dessert followed which was Hot Apple Pie or Pecan Pie with Rich Vanilla Ice-cream and then a Cheese Board with Tea, Coffee & Mints. This was then followed by a presentation of a silver engraved picture frame to the |
Master's Lady; the toast to the Ladies; a rendition of the Ladies' Song and the response by the Master's Lady.
After all had had their fill and the tables had been rearranged, the evening's entertainment began with dancing to "The Mark Wilkinson Quartet", who played and evening of 'Standards' from the 'Great American Songbook'.
Carriages were arranged for midnight and I can confidently state that no slipped were left on the steps to the Lodge, nor did carriages turned back to pumpkins, and all the beautiful dresses remained exquisite.
Happy have we met,
Happy did we part,
Happy meet again.
